DLNA certification for customers’ end devices

For customer's end devices that are either based on our UPnP SDK or that embed our UPnP MediaServer, PacketVideo provides support for the whole DLNA certification process. This includes the UIC certification as well as both DLNA certification steps - online and onsite certification at the ICV site.

Client adaptation

Several client devices support additional features to improve usability for the end user. Since most of these features, like SMS style navigation or special keys on the remote control, are not standardized yet, these client features can often not be supported by simple UPnP servers. The PacketVideo UPnP server features a special client adaptation layer. PacketVideo directly cooperates with manufacturers of media players to improve the interoperability beyond simple standardized features. All you need to do as a media player manufacturer, is provide us with a sample device and some information regarding the special feature. This service is free.

  Customization to customers' corporate design

TwonkyMedia provides several customization options such as the navigation structure, which can be selected by the end user through the MediaServer's configuration pages or pre-selected by device manufacturers. PacketVideo provides support for the pre-customization process.
The MediaServer configuration pages can also be directly integrated into any kind of web-based configuration pages of the device.

  Porting to target platform

PacketVideo has already ported the UPnP client SDK as well as the MediaServer to many devices and platforms. For target platforms that have not been addressed yet, we offer porting services.

  Adaptation to online services

TwonkyMedia can serve locally stored content and can also be utilized as proxy for online services such as Internet radio or video-on-demand. PacketVideo provides support to configure the server for particular online services by means of plug-ins.

Code walkthrough

For our UPnP AV SDK we offer a code walkthrough where we explain the code in more detail and give some examples on how to use the client SDK to build your own media players and control points. In conjunction with the code walkthrough we explain UPnP basics and details and how to build a "well behaving" and highly interoperable UPnP device.
